Adult Flag Football: The Parks and Recreation Department offers seven-on-seven non-contact men’s flag football. Three divisions are offered, with the “A” League being the most competitive and the “C” League being the least competitive. To be placed on a mailing list and receive information on these leagues contact the Recreation Division Office.
Winter Rally Adult Volleyball Tournament: Held in by the Grand Island Parks and Recreation Department and the YMCA. Held each year in February, the tournament is open to Adult Women’s and Coed teams. Participants must be at least 16 years old to participate.
Central Nebraska Youth Track & Field This is a program boy and girls ages 8 to 13. The program promotes basic running, jumping and throwing skills to the youth participants. First through forth place finishers of the Grand Island local meet automatically qualify for the State meet held in either Grand Island, Kearney, York, North Platte, or Hastings. This state meet will rotate each year.
The Community Fieldhouse is a 70,000 square foot facility that includes indoor batting cages, turf sports fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, meeting rooms, and a children's playground. A wide range of activities are offered: youth sports, adult sports, birthday parties, and after school programs.
MLB Pitch Hit & Run: This event provides youngsters an opportunity to participate in an exciting baseball/softball skills competition. This national initiative gives boys and girls ages 7-14 the chance to showcase their pitching, hitting, and running abilities. It is intended to encourage youth participation and emphasize the "FUN" element of baseball/softball. Since there is NO registration fee, everyone has the opportunity to participate.
